Open Positions

Currently, the following positions are open:

• PhD scholarships (candidates with Bachelor and/or Master degree, see below for a list of our research topics)

PhD Candidate Research Topics

Theory, modeling and simulation

• DFT simulation. Electronic, optical, thermal, and transport properties of 2D and topological materials, heterostructures and devices

• Theory of electron transport and tunneling in topological and 2D material nanodevices

• Modeling of nonlinear optical response in topological solids

• 2D material photonic devices (e.g. metasurface, photonic crystal, sensor)

• Nano and micro energy converters

Requirements

We welcome anyone who holds a physics, material science or electrical engineering degree, with strong interests in DFT computational modeling and is keen to work with innovative and multidisciplinary research themes to join us. Candidates with one or many of the following skills are desirable:

• Density functional theory and/or NEGF simulation (VASP, QuantumATK, or equivalent)

• Semiconductor, solid state, condensed matter physics

• Optics

• Proficiency in scientific computing (Python, MATLAB or equivalent)

• Electromagnetic simulation (COMSOL, CST Studio or equivalent)
